Nestled in a small town of Pennsylvania, Market Street Trust Design Company is making a big impact.
With a credo of “the world has changed,” Market Street are purpose-driven marketing practitioners who use what they’ve branded as ‘visualogue’ to communicate brands to their target markets. And this communication shift is the driving force and inspiration behind their strategy.
“We're practitioners of purpose-driven design. We create strategic design with intent to sell,” says Brad Curran, Market Street’s Business Development leader. “Our biggest dream is to be associated with the best design shops in the country. We've worked on some iconic brands, but wish to maintain prominence in the industry as a leading design boutique.”
Market Street has worked with large brands like Seagram’s to support new product launches, as well as smaller brands like Sauders Eggs and Mackeson to help build their brands. It’s not all play-no work, however; Market Street has their obstacles just like any other small business.
“Consistent sales funnel is one of our biggest obstacles,” comments Brad. “Our business is almost entirely project-based. We are required to continuously sell our services in order to grow our business and team, let alone, keep the doors open. Today's world is geared towards design because we're bombarded by information, where the messages that resonate or breakthrough are well designed – it's incredibly challenging to remain prominent with how many competitors have entered the market in the last five years.”
Despite the obstacles, Market Street has lots to be proud of. Market Street was able to earn lots of credibility and won awards for their work on major brand and package design for two major national brands in the United States. So when we asked Market Street what their company advice was, it came as no surprise that they recommended not holding back.
“Stick to your chops,” recommends Brad. “Clients believe they always know best, but your the expert at what you do. Fight like hell for the work you're confident in.”
As an award-winning design boutique, we had to know about the use of their .design domain. Market Street says that they chose .design as their domain because for their graphic design business, it just makes sense.

“The URL extension carries preconceived notions -- your site must reflect modern design, whether brand, package, environmental or digital design. The website can't fall flat.”
